Prince William Neurology
Named area Top Doctor by Washingtonian 2015, Northern Virginia Magazine 2014 and Washington Consumers Checkbook 2014
Dr. Leah Kroeger M.D.
I know it's cliche, but I became a doctor to help people. It's what I pretended to do as a little girl, it's what I wrote my Medical School application about and it's still why I practice today.
As a practicing Neurologist, my mission is to provide the highest quality care with empathy and compassion for every patient. In order to achieve this, I listen intently to my patients, perform thorough physical exams and seek innovative treatment options. I genuinely value the patient-physician relationship and want every patient to feel comfortable and confident with the care they receive.
I grew up in Northern Virginia and was educated locally. After graduating from Fairfax public schools, I attended William & Mary before going to medical school at MCV/VCU. I left the area to pursue my residency in Neurology and enjoyed four wonderful years in Chicago before returning to Georgetown for a fellowship in Neurophysiology. I then joined a small practice with Dr. Jonathan Amy in Manassas for 8 years before starting my own practice in July 2014.
My business model is becoming more common with the changes in our health care system - I am out of network for all insurance. There is a flat fee of $140 for each office visit. The patient can choose to file their claim with the insurance company for reimbursement - we supply the paperwork. Given the recent increase in co-pays and deductibles, most patients find my fee to be less than or comparable to more traditional in-network practices. Importantly, all tests I order (ie. MRI's, blood work) or prescription medications are still fully covered by the patient's insurance.
With 12 years of local experience, I am honored to be serving the neurology needs of Manassas, Warrenton, Culpepper, Haymarket, Gainesville, Fairfax and other communities.
